We are called to pray for others and for ourselves. Yet sometimes we neglect to allow God to break through and show us, as John Wesley said, “A more perfect way.” Or we may remember from the prayer Jesus taught us, “Our father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as is in heaven…” in her book, Open Road/The Adventure of a Breakthrough Prayer Initiative,Sue Nilson Kibbey wrote, “Translated literally, the dynamic Greek verb Jesus utilized usually meant to come into existence, to breakthrough or emerge in history or for miracles to come to pass.” (pg. 14)
Bridges: A United Methodist Fellowship is grateful for all God has done for us, and for those saints who served and worshipped in this place as First United Methodist Church Bunnell. Now we claim more than a new name: we claim a new direction, a renewed spirit, and a new sense that the desire of our hearts to be the same as our Lord. We pray that the Lord of all creation leads us.
Set the alarm for 2:05 (AM or PM) and take 5 minutes to pray our Breakthrough Prayer and then listen for what God is ready to tell you. You're invited to share your breakthroughs on our website, email, or in worship!
"God of all creation, may your perfect love
enlighten and empower us to break through our fears to be your instruments of grace.
May the desire of your heart become ours,
so that we will work to build
relationships that bridge the gap between
hopelessness and holiness,
between this world and your Kingdom."
